Gerd Focke

Gerd Focke (born April 7, 1927 in Leipzig ; † April 3, 2016 ibid.) Was a German dramaturge , director , writer , actor and broadcaster .

Life

Focke graduated from high school and then did a commercial apprenticeship. After the Second World War he attended the drama school in Leipzig, where he worked as an actor and broadcaster. As a result of a stage accident, he had to give up acting. He became a dramaturgy assistant and finally a dramaturge in Leipzig, Nordhausen and, from 1964 to 1990, in Halle (Saale) . In the Halle studio of the German television broadcasting company , for which he had worked since 1955, he emerged primarily as the (co-) founder of the Moritzburg television theater and as its long-standing director.

In addition, Focke was present as a writer from 1950 and from 1963 to 1990 as a film, television and theater critic.
