Gerd Mannhaupt

Gerd Mannhaupt (* 1958 in Duisburg ) is a German educator , psychologist and university professor .

Life

Mannhaupt studied psychology at Bielefeld University , where he obtained a diploma in 1985 . In 1990 there his doctorate Dr. phil. with the dissertation strategy training for sound structure analysis with the help of abstract or concrete symbols during the early acquisition of written language . Also in Bielefeld in 1997, Mannhaupt became learning prerequisites for written language acquisition with the work . A study on the development of written language and its sub-skills as well as their conditions in preschool and primary school age habilitation .

Then in 1997 Mannhaupt became a university lecturer for psychology at the Psychological Institute III of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , before he switched to the University of Erfurt as a university lecturer for the basics of language / written language acquisition in 2002 . Since 2008 he has been a professor for the subject of Basic German / Written Language Acquisition.

From 2009 to 2012 he was Director of the Erfurt School of Education at the University of Erfurt, from 2011 to 2014 and again from 2019 he was Vice President for Studies and Teaching at the University of Erfurt. In 2014 Mannhaupt took over the duties of President of the University of Erfurt on a temporary basis.

His research interests include the acquisition of written language, monitoring of learning progress and the analysis of early reading and writing.
