Gerd Schlaak

Gerd Schlaak (born October 5, 1952 in Stendal ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Gerd Schlaak studied after graduating from high school in 1971 chemistry at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University in Greifswald , graduating in 1978 as a chemist from. In 1985 he became a medical chemist . Since 1978/79 he worked as a research assistant at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University. In 1979/80 he was laboratory manager in the operational health clinic of the Stendal nuclear power plant .

Gerd Schlaak, who is of Protestant denomination, is married and has two children.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall , Gerd Schlaak became a CDU member in January 1990. In the CDU he held various board positions, e.g. B. as deputy chairman of the CDU district association Stendal. In May 1990 he was elected to the district council of the Stendal district and is chairman of the building and transport committee there.

Gerd Schlaak was the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in the state election district Stendal directly elected to the state parliament. In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1994, he was defeated in his constituency with 32.8% of his SPD co-applicant, but just as in 1998 he entered the state parliament via the state list. In 2002 he won the constituency with 39.6% of the vote.
