Gerd Stein

Gerd Stein (born December 14, 1941 in Oberhausen ) is a German political and educational scientist .

Life

From 1961 to 1964 Stein studied pedagogy (teaching post) at the Pedagogical University of Dortmund and at the University of Hamburg . After both state exams , he worked as a teacher from 1964 to 1969. From 1970 to 1973 he studied political science , educational science and philosophy (graduate pedagogue) at the Ruhr University Bochum and the Ruhr University of Education . In 1977 he was in political science with the dissertation textbook knowledge, politics and education. Investigation of a practice-related and theory-led textbook research on Dr. paed. PhD. 1980 followed the habilitation in educational science at the Gerhard Mercator University / GH Duisburg .

At the Faculty of Social Sciences he was appointed Academic Councilor and Associate Professor of Politics and Education. From 1977 he was director of the Institute for Textbook Research, which was founded under the direction of the political scientist Horst E. Schallenberger and with the participation of a number of scientists from various disciplines at what was then the University of Duisburg . He researched u. a. in the areas of educational science, educational policy and political didactics . He has been retired since 2005.
