Gerd Wolter (politician)
Gerd Wolter (born February 14, 1942 in Braunschweig ; † February 9, 2019 in Munich ) was a German actor, author and local politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). He was Germany's first openly gay member of a city council.
Life
Wolter had lived in Munich since 1964 and founded the children's and youth theater there in 1972.
From 1984 to 1990 Wolter sat for the Greens on the Munich city council and was Germany's first openly gay local politician on a city council. He was responsible for culture, gays and lesbians and was also the theater advisor of the state capital Munich. Wolter was particularly committed to the disabled.
Wolter was the initiator and co-founder of the Pink List in Munich. He was in 1978 founder and editor of the alternative magazine toadstool and from 2003 editor of the online portal gayfliegenpilz.de for homo- , bi- and transsexuals .
