Gerhard Brandstätter (born January 22, 1953 ) is an Italian lawyer in Bozen , banker and since 1999 Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Trentino-South Tyrol .

Life

After graduating from the Franciscan high school in Bolzano, Gerhard Brandstätter studied law at the University of Florence , where he received his doctorate with honors in 1977 after studying in Brussels . As a young lawyer, he worked in Bolzano , Milan and Los Angeles until he began a three-year career in 1979 with Salvatore Pescatore, a Roman lawyer specializing in banking and corporate law. In 1979 Brandstätter passed the bar exam in Trento , in 1982 he returned to Bolzano and took over the law firm founded by his father Josef Brandstätter. In the following years he expanded the law firm and opened two branches in Milan and Munich. He is admitted to the Munich Higher Regional Court to advise on Italian legal issues.

From 2003 to 2014 Brandstätter was President of the Südtiroler Sparkasse Foundation , and from 2014 he is President of the Südtiroler Sparkasse . He is also a member of numerous supervisory and advisory bodies in the finance and banking sector.

With his wife Ulrike he has two grown daughters, Lisa and Evelyn, as well as a granddaughter.
