Gerhard Then

Gerhard Dann (born June 26, 1936 in Gießen ; † September 25, 2014 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Gerhard Dann completed an apprenticeship as watchmaker after primary school and the state technical school and became a master watchmaker in 1958. After a few years of manual activity, he became managing director of the SPD Wetzlar and Oberlahn and Hessen Süd in 1961, and in 1971 switched to the Hessian State Chancellery and later to the Hessian Ministry of Culture as a consultant . Gerhard Dann was married and had three children.

politics

Gerhard Dann had been a member of the SPD since 1954, where he held various board positions. Among other things, he was deputy chairman in the Limburg-Weilburg district . From 1960 he was a community representative in Weilmünster , later in Hermannstein and also a member of the district council. On December 1, 1978, he was elected to the Hessian state parliament, to which he belonged for four terms until April 4, 1991.

Honors

Gerhard Dann was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 1990 .
