Gerhard Hotze

Gerhard Hotze (born April 12, 1962 in Hanover ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1982 to 1987 he studied Catholic theology in Münster and Rome . From 1989 to 2002 he was a research assistant or assistant in the New Testament department at the Universities of Osnabrück / Vechta with Franz Georg Untergaßmair and Münster with Karl Kertelge (1926–2009). He married Barbara Heitfeld in 1994. At the Westphalian Wilhelms University he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . Since the 2002/03 winter semester he has been a lecturer in New Testament biblical studies at the Philosophical-Theological University of Münster. From 2004 to 2013 he represented chairs for New Testament and Biblical Theology at the universities of Dresden, Cologne, Osnabrück / Vechta, Wuppertal and Aachen. After his habilitation as a private lecturer in 2005 in the New Testament subject at the University of Osnabrück , he was appointed professor for New Testament biblical studies at the Philosophical-Theological University of Münster in 2008.

His research and work focus are Pauline theology, Lucanian theology, biblical hermeneutics, theology and university didactics and catechetical communication of the Bible.
