Gerhard Linn

Gerhard Linn (born August 12, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian , pastor and ecumenist .

Life

Linn obtained his university entrance qualification after attending elementary school and a secondary institution . He then studied Protestant theology in Jena and Berlin. From 1958 to 1966 he was vicar and pastor in Thuringia . From 1966 to 1978 he was called to head the missionary service of the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg . He then worked in the theological studies department of the Federation of Evangelical Churches in the GDR . He maintained contacts and maintained relations between the Federation of Churches and the ecumenical bodies of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the World Council of Churches (WCC).

Gerhard Linn took part in the work of the Christian Peace Conference (CFK) and was a participant in the 1st All-Christian Peace Assembly (ACFV) in Prague in 1961 .

After the fall of the Wall , he became the parish priest in Schönerlinde and Schönwalde . At the same time, he continued to work scientifically in theological journals and standard encyclopedias such as the work " The Religion in Past and Present ".
