Gerhard Naulin

Gerhard Naulin (born April 27, 1922 in Berlin ; † November 20, 2018 there ) was a German health officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Gerhard Naulin was born the son of Wilhelm Naulin, who was president of the Berlin allotment gardeners' association after 1945. Naulin joined the SPD and was district councilor in the Zehlendorf district from 1965 to 1968 . From 1968 to 1981 he was State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Health .

Since 1966 he was a founding member of the board of trustees of the Oskar-Helene-Heim Foundation , which he played a key role in shaping and was chairman of for many years. In 1967 he founded the Wannsee School for Health Professions, which he opened in 1972 as Senate Director (State Secretary) together with Federal President Gustav Heinemann . From its establishment in 1976 to 2014, he was also chairman of the board of trustees of the Wilhelm Naulin Foundation, named after his father, and campaigned for allotment gardens in Berlin and the preservation of inner-city green spaces.

For his services he was awarded the honorary title of City Elder and the Great Federal Cross of Merit.
