Gerhard Neumeier

Gerhard Neumeier (* 1960 in Regensburg ) is a German archivist and historian .

Life

He attended the Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium in Gauting near Munich and graduated from high school in 1982. From 1982 to 1987 he studied Bavarian history, modern history and political science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and in 1992 at Friedrich Prinz with the dissertation Munich in 1900 to Dr. phil. PhD. Jörg Vögele described the work as an "important contribution to the historic city".

He then worked for the company for the management of film and television rights . This was followed by training to become a business archivist and information manager at the Business Training Academy in Cologne. He then built up the corporate archives of the Stadtsparkasse Weiden, the Fischerwerke in Waldtachtal-Tumlingen and the Vaillant -Werke in Remscheid. He later worked at the universities in Karlsruhe, Freiburg im Breisgau and Heidelberg.

In 1999 he took part in the international conference "Business History in Central Europe" at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . There he lectured on the subject of “Munich Jewish Entrepreneurship around 1900”.

From January 2008 to the end of January 2009 he was head of the Fürstenfeldbruck City Archives . He then moved briefly to the Erfurt branch of the Federal Commissioner for Stasi Records as head of the “Archive, Magazine, Index” department . Since 2009 he has been head of the Fürstenfeldbruck City Archives again.

He has published articles in anthologies and specialist articles, etc. a. in the quarterly journals for contemporary history , in the European Review of Economic History , in the journal for Bavarian regional history and in the journal for historical science .
