Gerhard O. Pfeffermann

Gerhard O. Pfeffermann (born June 17, 1936 in Gießen ; † November 14, 2019 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1993 to 1997 he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications .

Family and Vocational Training / Political Activities

Pfeffermann had been a member of the JU / CDU since 1955 .

After graduating from the engineering school in Gießen in 1959 , he worked for Carl Schenck AG in Darmstadt . From 1961 he held several positions in the Hessian CDU: district chairman in Darmstadt, southern Hesse district executive and from 1967 city councilor in Darmstadt. Pfeffermann was honorary chairman of the CDU district association Darmstadt.

Pfeffermann was married and lived in Darmstadt. On November 29, 2019 he was buried in the old cemetery in Darmstadt (grave number: 1 F 106).

Member of the Bundestag

Gerhard O. Pfeffermann was a member of the German Bundestag from the 7th electoral term (1972–1976) to the 12th electoral term (1990–1994). He resigned his mandate with his appointment as State Secretary on September 6, 1993.

Together with Joschka Fischer , Gerhard O. Pfeffermann ranks fourth on the list of calls to order in the German Bundestag with twelve calls to order.

Pfeffermann wrote the saying “It mompers again”, based on the activities of Walter Momper .

Public offices

Pfeffermann was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications from 1993 to 1997 during the term of office of Federal Minister Wolfgang Bötsch . With the dissolution of the Federal Post Office on December 31, 1997, he resigned from office.

In his role as State Secretary he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom .

Honors

Since 1983 he was an honorary member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Nibelungia (Brno) Darmstadt in the CV .

In 1997 he was honored with the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
