Gerhard Retter

Gerhard Retter (born May 13, 1973 in Hofkirchen bei Hartberg ) is an Austrian cook and sommelier .

Life

Retter grew up in his parents' inn in Styria and enjoyed training at the state vocational school for tourism in Bad Gleichenberg. He first learned the profession of cook, later that of waiter, where he first came into contact with his future professional field, wine. His first professional stop was the restaurant Aubergine of Eckart Witzigmann . He later worked for Frédy Girardet in Lausanne , then in London with Gordon Ramsay and with Heinz Hanner in Mayerling , and then worked as Maître at the Lorenz Adlon in the Hotel Adlon in Berlin.

Retter runs the Cordo restaurant (formerly Cordobar) in Berlin and the Fischerklause at Lütjensee .

Retter became well known in the media from 2016 as a juror in the 7th and 8th season of the VOX cooking show Grill den Henssler and in the sequel Grill den Profi .
