Gerhard Schricker

Gerhard Schricker (born June 25, 1935 in Nuremberg ) is a German legal scholar . He is Emeritus of the LMU Munich and "Emeritus Scientific Member" of the Max Planck Society. His research focus is on civil law , commercial law , industrial property rights and copyright law as well as comparative private law .

Life

Schricker was born in Nuremberg in 1935. He was funded by the Maximilianeum Foundation and studied from 1954 at the LMU Munich, the University of Salamanca and the University of Pavia . In 1959 he passed the first state examination (very good) . From 1960 he was a research assistant at the University of Munich, where he received his doctorate in 1961 under Eugen Ulmer . In 1964 he passed the second state examination with very good. From 1966 Schricker was a consultant at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich. In 1969 he completed his habilitation again with Eugen Ulmer.

In 1971 he became a scientific member of the Max Planck Society and co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich. Since 1973 he has been a full professor at the University of Munich. From 1991 to 2001 he was Managing Director of the Max Planck Institute for Patent Law. In 2000 he was released. He supervised six habilitations and more than 160 doctorates.
