Gerhard Wülker

Gerhard Konrad Wülker (born November 5, 1885 in Leipzig ; † 1930 ) was a German zoologist .

Gerhard Wülker was the son of the Leipzig university professor and English scholar Richard Wülker (1845–1910) and his wife Gertrud Lange, daughter of the philologist Ludwig Lange .

He attended the König-Albert-Gymnasium from Michaelis 1895 to Easter 1904 , which he left with the school leaving certificate. He then studied natural sciences at the universities of Leipzig, Heidelberg and Kiel .

From 1910 he published research on cephalopods , later also on insects and roundworms (nematodes). The cephalopod Grimpoteuthis wuelkeri is named after him.
