From his tombstone, which is in a side chapel of the Stendal Cathedral, the following curriculum vitae emerges (in analogous translation of the Latin text):

“The foundations of his learning were laid here in his hometown, formed in Berlin, and perfected to the highest in Leipzig, Halle and Jena. He had no false ambitions, but lived according to the will of God. He has held the office of servant of this 3rd house of God since the year 1713. What he taught in terms of knowledge, he has testified in his life. Eventually a rare disease took him off. On April 1, 1735, he calmly gave his soul back to God ”.

The stone was donated by his widow and four grieving children.

He was enrolled at the University of Leipzig in the summer semester of 1705 and at the University of Halle in June 1707. In 1713 he became a preacher and in 1716 a deacon at the cathedral in Stendal. He was the youngest deacon at the cathedral in Stendal and most recently archdeacon.

In Halle he had studied theology with August Hermann Francke . Several letters have been preserved in the archive of the Francke Foundations .

In the pastor's book for the Altmark he is mentioned as "Adjunkt Stendal Dom III for the period from 1716 to 1735".
