Gernot Tschirwitz
Gernot Tschirwitz (* 1944 in Lauban ) is a German composer , pianist and private music teacher .
Life
Tschirwitz grew up in Bamberg and graduated from high school there. He then studied at the Bavarian State Conservatory of Music in Würzburg the subjects conducting at Hanns Reinartz , piano at Karl Michael Leonhardt and Kirsti Hjort and composition with Bertold Hummel (private). In 1967 he made his Kapellmeister exam . He then worked for three years as solo repetitor and conductor at the Lucerne Theater in Switzerland . From 1970 to 2006 he had a teaching position as a vocal repetiteur at the University of Music in Würzburg. He has performed as a conductor, piano soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.
During these years he took on numerous voluntary tasks: In 1971 he founded and managed the Würzburger Junge Camerata up to and including 1976 . In 1992 he founded and until 1998 directed the Bad Kissinger Klaviertage and the Robert Saar Competition that was integrated into it . From 2000 to 2005 he was chairman of the Tonkünstlerverband Würzburg . Tschirwitz has devoted himself exclusively to composing since 2006.
Tschirwitz also worked as a music teacher for decades: In 1982, he began his private teaching activities by taking on students from a piano teacher who was working in Bad Kissingen . Since Tschirwitz lived in Schwanfeld in 1984 , he visited his students in the Würzburg, Schweinfurt , Haßfurt , Bad Kissingen and Main-Spessart district for lessons.
