Gert Arne Blomé (born August 28, 1934 in Gävle ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Gert Blomé began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at Gävle Godtemplares IK , for whose professional team he was active from 1956 to 1961 in Division 1 , which was then the highest Swedish league. With the Gävle GIK he won the national championship title in 1957 . From 1961 to the end of his career in 1972 he played for Västra Frölunda IF , with which he was also Swedish champion in 1965. Blomé had a significant share in the championship title with Västra Frölunda and received the golden puck as Player of the Year in Sweden.

International

For Sweden Blomé took part in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley and 1964 in Innsbruck . At the 1964 Winter Games, he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1958 , 1962 , 1963 , 1965 and 1967 . At the world championships in 1958 and 1965 he and his team won the bronze medal, and at the world championships in 1963 and 1967 the silver medal. At the 1962 World Cup, Blomé won the gold medal with Sweden. As the best European team, the team also became European champions.
