Gert K. Müntefering

Gert Kaspar Müntefering (born November 28, 1935 in Neheim or Hüsten ) is a German television journalist .

Life

Müntefering attended a modern language grammar school. He then completed a traineeship at the Westfalenpost . After completing his training, Müntefering worked as an editor at local editorial offices in the Westphalia area . In 1961 he became the editor in charge of the Cologne area editorial team at the Kölnische Rundschau . He also worked for the magazine Twen , the magazine Westfalenspiegel of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen and as a freelancer for the WDR .

Since 1963 Müntefering was permanently employed at WDR and built up its children's and toddler program. Between 1965 and 1968 he played a key role in the production of the first children's films on German television. From 1970 onwards, Müntefering came up with the idea and concept for the Sendung mit der Maus . In 1977 he was also involved in the suburban crocodiles for children's television . From 1967 he was also involved in the collaboration between West German television and Czechoslovak television (ČST) in the productions Pan Tau , Die Märchenbraut (in other countries "Arabela") and The Visitors . The same applies to the collaboration with Polish productions from 1984 onwards. Since 1981, Müntefering has been director of the family programs for WDR television. In 1999 he retired. Müntefering taught at universities in Berlin , Munich and most recently in Kassel .
