Gert Lanz

Gerhard "Gert" Lanz (born May 27, 1971 in Innichen ) is a South Tyrolean entrepreneur and politician.

biography

Lanz, who was born in Toblach, completed a degree in business informatics at the University of Vienna , which he completed with a diploma thesis submitted in 1995 . He then joined the family business LANZ Metall , which specialized in the planning and manufacture of metal and glass construction projects. From 1998 he took on various functions in the South Tyrolean Association of Craftsmen (LVH), and in 2011 he was elected President. In the state elections in 2018 , Lanz won a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and, at the same time, the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol with 9,164 preferential votes on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party . There he took over the role of the parliamentary group spokesman for his party. In November 2019, his company LANZ Metall ceased operations due to liabilities of over 12 million euros.
