Gert Sautermeister

Gert Sautermeister (born June 1, 1940 in Ulm ) is a German literary scholar .

Life

Sautermeister attended the Schubart grammar school in Ulm; Abitur in 1959. He studied German and Romance languages at the universities of Tübingen , Vienna , Paris and Munich . He was a professor at the University of Bremen and provided the first overall scientific presentation of the poetry of the Swiss writer Gottfried Keller ( Die Lyrik Gottfried Kellers , 2010). Other well-known writings are Idyllic and Dramatic in Friedrich Schiller's work (1971), Germany after Hitler (1987) and Goethe in Exile (edited with Frank Baron, 2002).
