The Schubart grammar school is one of seven grammar schools in Ulm . The state, general high school was named after the poet and writer Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart .

location

The Schubart-Gymnasium is located to the west of the Ulm main station and immediately to the east of the ramparts of the federal fortress Ulm and the six-lane Hindenburgring ( B 10 / B 28 ) in the so-called "Dichterviertel".

history

The Schubart-Gymnasium emerged from the division of the double establishment Realgymnasium-Realschule in 1931. The Realschule (today's Kepler-Gymnasium ) returned to the Olgastraße location, where the double institution was established in 1878. The grammar school that remained in the blue ring school was named Realgymnasium am Blauring .

School profiles

The grammar school offers two school profiles: the mathematical and scientific profile and the modern language profile, with the languages English, French, Latin and Italian. In addition, there has been a bilingual train since the 2001/02 school year, which provides two more hours of preparatory English lessons from grade five. From the seventh grade onwards, geography is taught in English. The qualifications offered are secondary school leaving qualifications, secondary school leaving certificates, high school diplomas and technical college qualifications.

Partnerships

Since around 2000 there has been a student exchange with the Liceo R.Corso in Correggio (Emilia-Romagna) . There are other partner schools in France (Collège in Gujan-Mestras ) and Tanzania .

Support association

The Association of Friends of Schubart-Gymnasium Ulm eV was founded on June 11, 1969 by 55 members of the parents' council. Its purpose is to promote high school education. This is done, for example, through cultural and sporting events, but also by improving the equipment.

Extra-curricular activities

The school supports the initiative "School without Racism - School with Courage", which works against racism and discrimination. In 2012, as part of the "Show Your Face" project, schoolchildren produced posters, rap songs and videos against racism.
