The Kepler grammar school is one of seven grammar schools in Ulm . A special feature of the Kepler-Gymnasium is the offer of an art profile that can be attended from the 5th grade.
place
The Kepler grammar school is located in downtown Ulm across from the regional court. In the immediate vicinity, partly in the same building, there are other schools, including the Humboldt Gymnasium , the Ulrich von Ensingen Community School and the Martin Schaffner School (GHS).
The school today
The Kepler-Gymnasium currently offers three different profiles: The mathematical-scientific profile, the language profile and the art profile (as one of only 3 high schools in Baden-Württemberg). Another special feature are the so-called string classes: In grades 5 and 6, students can learn a string instrument, for which the number of music lessons is increased by one hour.
The new school building with the eye-catching glass facade was completed in 2005. Above all, it offers new specialist rooms for the field of biology.
Extra-curricular activities
In addition to the diverse range of courses, there are also many different working groups. The school newspaper Kepler-Kessel and the musical offer are particularly noteworthy . At Christmas and in summer there is a concert by the choirs of the Kepler Gymnasium. Every year in May there is a symphony concert by the symphony orchestra.
In support of the art profile, an art competition takes place every year, in which every student can submit works. The best of them will be honored with a prize and exhibited in the Ulm Adult Education Center. Another, albeit smaller, competition takes place through the selection of the work of art of the month, which is published on the school's official website.
Partner schools
As part of the "Danube" project, the Kepler grammar school regularly maintains exchange programs with schools in Hungary and Romania, which are located in cities along the Danube. There is also a regular exchange with Starachowice / Poland and Crozon / France. The Kepler-Gymnasium maintains a partnership with the Mwakigwena Primary School in Ukunda, Kenya, through the association "We help in Ukunde eV".
