Rudolf W. Keck

Rudolf Willy Keck (born October 16, 1935 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German pedagogue , educational scientist and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1956, Keck completed a teaching degree at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education , which he completed in 1959. This was followed by teaching at the Kepler secondary school in Ulm until 1961 , before he began a second degree in educational sciences and history at the universities of Tübingen and Saarbrücken . In 1963 he became a research assistant at the Institute for Education at Saarland University in Saarbrücken . In 1966, at the University's graduation to the Dr. phil. with the work History of the Middle School in Württemberg: Motives and problems of its development from the Reformation to the present with special consideration of Stuttgart and Ulm . Then Keck was a research assistant at the chair of general education at the Vechta University of Education .

1968 Keck was initially to university faculty of education at the Pedagogical University of Braunschweig appointed before 1972 a call to the professor for education at the College of Education Hildesheim, in the University of Hildesheim rose assumed. In 2001 he was at the University emeritus . In addition, from 1973 to 1990 Keck was a lecturer for school pedagogy at the TU Braunschweig and at the TU Clausthal .

Keck's commitment outside the university is reflected in various memberships and offices, for example he was chairman of the Hildesheim Museum Association from 1987 to 2002, chairman of the historical commission of the German Society for Educational Science from 1989 to 1993 and president of the International Academy from 2000 to 2004 Humanization of Education (IAHE) . Since 2000, Keck has also been an external member of the Russian Academy for Education in Moscow .

Keck was in 2012 from the University of Novgorod the honorary doctorate awarded.

Research priorities

Keck's focal points include school pedagogy and general didactics , especially in the context of teacher training. He also deals with historical educational research and historical-educational image research .
