Gertrud Burkhalter
Gertrud Burkhalter (born January 9, 1911 in Biel ; † May 6, 2000 in Zurich ) was a Swiss dialect poet .
Burkhalter worked as an educator , private tutor and journalist before she was a librarian at the Pestalozzi Library in Zurich from 1946 to 1973 . In 1942 she published the amateur play Das Lehen . Her well-known volumes of poetry include Stygüferli (1943), Heligeland (1957) and Momänte (1980). Her works have appeared in anthologies , were partly set to music by Alfred Stern and honored with awards.
