Salvatorians
The Salvatorians (in honor of Salvator Mundi ) are a Catholic religious community that is divided into three branches - religious men , women religious and lay people . The official name of the Salvatorians who are close to the Jesuits is Societas Divini Salvatoris ( Society of the Divine Savior , abbreviation : SDS ), that of the Salvatorians Sorores Divini Salvatoris (Sisters of the Divine Savior) and that of the Lay Salvatorians International Community of the Divine Savior (International Community of the Divine Savior) .
history
In 1881 the Salvatorians were founded by Franziskus Maria vom Kreuz Jordan (1848–1918), who in 1888, together with Baroness Therese von Wüllenweber (1833–1907), established the order of the Salvatorian Sisters. Maria-Theresia von Wüllenweber was born in 1968 by Pope Paul VI. Beatified by the apostles under the religious name of Mother Mary .
Superior General of the Order is Milton Zonta.
The German order province was divided into two provinces in 1930, which were reunited in 2009 under the Provincial Leonhard Berchtold with seat in Munich.
In April 2018 there were 59 Salvatorians in eight locations in Germany. While the branches in Munich- Laim , Berlin-Schmargendorf , Steinfeld (Kall) and Bad Wurzach will be retained, those in Lochau (Vorarlberg), Münster-St. Gottfried , Maria Steinbach and Stuttgart-Giebel are dissolved. “The branch in Gurtweil / Waldshut, the birthplace of Father Franziskus Jordan, the founder of the Salvatorians, has a special status as a project . A separate decision has to be made about the long-term perspective of this branch. "
Salvatorians are present in Germany in Kerpen-Horrem , Bad Wurzach , Berlin-Waidmannslust , Grevenbroich , Mönchengladbach-Neuwerk , Passau , Steinfeld (Kall) , Stralsund , Warburg and Everswinkel .
Worldwide there are 1250 Salvatorians in 30 countries, about 1200 Salvatorians and 1300 Salvatorian lay people.

spirituality
The Salvatorians are inspired in their spirituality by the spiritual diary of their founder, Father Jordan. A sentence from the Gospel of John , the implementation of which the Salvatorians aim to implement, is of particular significance and the basic building block of the rule of the order : "This is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." , 3.) Father Jordan began his spiritual diary with the motto : “Everything for the greater glory of God and for the salvation of souls”. The Salvatorians want to proclaim Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world.
