The Society for Monument Preservation in Lower Saxony (GDN) is a registered association to support the preservation of monuments in Lower Saxony , which was founded on April 1, 2011 in Hanover . The association is in close contact with the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation , where the office is based.
The board of directors included the politician Edelgard Bulmahn as chairwoman and the former managing director of the Schaumburg landscape Sigmund Graf Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden as second chairman. Until 2017, secretary was the former president of the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation, Stefan Winghart . From 2018 he will be succeeded as secretary by Tobias Wulf from the State Office. Sigrid Kluge acts as treasurer.
Club aim is to promote historic preservation, preservation , home care and History in Lower Saxony. This is done through the support of archaeological, architectural, architectural and historical studies as well as excavations . Certain projects are financially supported. The association is not only aimed at professionals, but is open to all citizens interested in the preservation of historic monuments in Lower Saxony. The activities include regular excursions as a "search for clues with monument preservers" and lectures on archaeological topics. The members receive the journal Reports on Monument Preservation in Lower Saxony . In 2018 the association had around 150 members.
