Ursula Gesine Matthes (born October 21, 1955 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1999 to 2004 and again from 2005 to 2009 she was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

education and profession

Gesine Matthes attended the POS up to the tenth grade and trained as a skilled worker for quality control in the then Fritz-Heckert-Kombinat from 1972 to 1974 . From 1974 to 1990 she worked as a quality controller, departmental economist and programmer at the Fritz Heckert machine tool combine . From 1990 to 1996 she was managing director of the CDU city council group, from 1996 to 1999 branch manager for a project developer, and since 1998 she has been running an independent business .

Gesine Matthes is an Evangelical Lutheran and has two children.

politics

Gesine Matthes joined the CDU (East Germany) in 1980 . Since 1990 she has been the district chairwoman of the Women's Union and Deputy Federal Chairwoman of the Women's Union. In 1999 she was elected to the Saxon state parliament for the first time. After she could not prevail against Karl-Friedrich Zais (PDS) in 2004 in the constituency of Chemnitz 4 and left the state parliament, she moved back to the state parliament on November 30, 2005 for Andreas Lämmel . There she was a member of the Interior Committee, the Petitions Committee, the School and Sport Committee and the 2nd Committee of Inquiry for the 4th electoral term. In the 2009 election, Matthes was again defeated by Zais in the fight for the direct mandate and left the state parliament for the second time.

Other offices

Matthes was president of the Chemnitz Basketgirls / Chemcats from 2002 to 2010 and has been chairwoman of the Association for the Vocational Advancement and Training of Disadvantaged Youngsters (VBFA) since 2005.
