The Springsbach is a nearly three kilometer long brook in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart , which flows from the left into the Leinacher Bach when coming from the west-southwest .

geography

course

The Springsbach arises in the northeastern Main Triangle on the Marktheidenfelder Platte in the natural area 133.01 Zellingen-Thüngersheimer valley widening from the Springs of Springs southwest of Zellingen . The longest spring branch rises on the southwest slope of the Springshöhe ( 219  m above sea level ) in the Springs Wiesel corridor at a height of about 205  m . It initially flows a good 200 m in a south-easterly direction through a meadow and is then fed on its right by the drains from three other sources.

The Springsbach, which has been strengthened in this way, now curves gently to the left and crosses under the facilities of the ICE line Hanover – Würzburg in the east-northeast direction. He then straightened running strong more than 200 m at the southeast foot of the Gespringshöhe by an agricultural zone and is then on his right side by one of the Bartels ditch herkommenden in southwestern only intermittently fed water-bearing forest and Feldbächlein. A good 100 m later, the Springsbach changes its direction to the east and runs at the southern foot of the Kirchberg ( 203  m ), the eastern spur of the Springshöhe, through a green zone to the south, past two small ponds. He is now accompanied by the St 2299 state road leading from the Birkenfeld district of Billingshausen to Markt Zellingen . Half a kilometer later, the talking brook, which is now flowing east-northeast, is joined by the Riedbach, which is approaching from the north-west . About 200 m downstream, the Springsbach on the southwestern edge of Zellingen once operated the Riedmühle .

The stream now crosses under the St 2300 at the Storchsmühle and finally flows northwest of Billingshäuser Straße from the left into the Leinacher Bach flowing in from the south .
