The Getman Piedmont Glacier is a foreland glacier on the Bowman Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between the Reichle Mesa and the Three-Slice-Nunatak at the eastern end of the Joerg Peninsula .
It was geodetically surveyed and photographed from the air during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) and the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out further measurements between 1946 and 1948. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1977 after Commander Robert Tracy Getman (1932-2013) of the United States Coast Guard , Executive Officer on USCGC Southwind during Operation Deep Freeze in 1969.
