Each level is similar to different film and television productions. B. Allusions to the Looney Toons, Terminator , as well as other comic, kungfu and science fiction films. In addition, Gex always leaves appropriate comments, which allude to the respective film.

Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko / Deep Pocket Gecko

Deep Cover Gecko is the third part of the game series and was released in 1999 for Sony's PlayStation and the Nintendo 64 . The Game Boy Color version is titled Deep Pocket Gecko . Here, too, the naming is different.

As in previous parts, Gex fights against his arch enemy Rez, who this time kidnapped his agent Xtra (played by Marliece Andrada ). To free them, Gex has to fight his way through numerous worlds, including pyramids, the Wild West or the Arctic. The main task is to collect remote controls, which means that new levels (shown as TV channels) can be opened continuously. The control is similar to its predecessor. Gex can jump, climb along walls, hit his tail and do a karate kick. In addition, Gex has an additional ability, depending on the world he enters (cape gliding as Little Red Riding Hood in fairy tale level, jet flying as a superhero in anime level).
