The Geyersgraben is a north-facing right tributary of the Gorbitzbach in the south-west of Dresden ( Cotta district ). Apart from the headwaters, a large part of his bed is piped / built in.

A street that ran almost parallel in sections was called Am Graben . After Nieder- and Obergorbitz had been incorporated into Dresden, it was renamed Geyersgraben on October 21, 1921 .

location

The source of the Geyersgraben is about 400 meters west of Altroßthal near the north-western border of the Dresden district of Roßthal . In the vicinity of the source there is a rain retention basin of around 6000 m³, consisting of two basins, on federal motorway 17 , which is crossed by Kreisstraße 6275 (Saalhausener Straße) about 50 meters south of the source .

After around 100 meters, the stream briefly leaves the Dresden city area and flows for another 100 meters through the easternmost tip of the Freital district of Pesterwitz . When the city limits flow again, the Geyersgraben reaches the Dresden district of Gorbitz . It approaches the rear buildings on the western side of the Geyersgraben street , touches the Niedergorbitz town center near Altgorbitz and flows into the Gorbitzbach about 60 meters north-northwest of the witch's house .

On this downward slope, the Geyersgraben swelled to a raging brook during storms in 1953 and 1958.
