Gheorghe Cimpoia (born October 14, 1939 in Râșnov ) is a former Romanian biathlete .

Gheorghe Cimpoia started for the ASA Brașov association . He took part in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , where he finished 27th. The most successful major sporting event was the 1966 Biathlon World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , in which Cimpoia, as the best Romanian, came fifth in the individual. He was also sixth with Constantin Carabela , Nicolae Bărbăşescu and Vilmoş Gheorghe in the first officially held as part of the World Cup relay competition. In 1968 he took part in the Winter Olympics a second time . In Grenoble he ran in the singles on the 23rd place and in the first Olympic relay race in the line-up of the 1966 World Cup was seventh.
