Nicolae Bărbășescu (born September 19, 1940 in Brașov ) is a former Romanian biathlete .
Nicolae Bărbăşescu started at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , but did not finish the race. The most successful major sporting event was the 1966 Biathlon World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where Bărbăşescu came sixth both individually and with Constantin Carabela , Gheorghe Cimpoia and Vilmoş Gheorghe in the relay competition, which was officially held for the first time as part of the World Cup. In 1968 he took part in the Winter Olympics a second time . In Grenoble he ran in singles to 29th place and was seventh in the first ever Olympic relay race in the line-up of the 1966 World Cup.
