Ghulam Khan ( Urdu : غلام خان) is a place in northern Waziristan in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa . Until 2018 it was part of the North Waziristan Agency , a federally administered tribal area (FATA). The village is 15 kilometers north of Miranshah .

This place is significant because it is on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan and enables the border crossing from Pakistan to Afghanistan. Along with Chaman and Landi Kotal on the Khyber Pass in Pakistan, Ghulam Khan is one of the three most important Pakistani border crossing points from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

history

In the past, there have been armed conflicts with militant Muslims and the US military in this border region, with civilians who were also killed. Furthermore, on September 25, 2008, several warning shots were fired by the Pakistani armed forces when a border was breached by a US spy plane .

On November 16, 2010, the US armed forces fired six projectiles at an insurgent training camp and at a vehicle. At least 15 people were killed.
