Giampaolo Urlando

Giampaolo Urlando (born January 7, 1945 in Padua ) is a former Italian athlete .

The hammer thrower was Italian champion in 1967 and continuously from 1975 to 1983. In 1976 he took part in the Olympic Games in Montreal , but dropped out in qualifying. At the European Championships in 1978 he was eighth. In 1980 Urlando reached seventh place at the Olympic Games in Moscow . In 1981 he was fourth in the European Cup and third in the World Cup . At the European Championships in 1982 he was eleventh. In 1983 he took part in the first world championships , but was eliminated in qualification. At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , Urlando finished fourth. However, he was in the doping test positive for testosterone tested and disqualified.
