Giancarlo Antonelli (bishop, 1690)

Giovanni Carlo Antonelli (born July 12, 1690 in Velletri ; † 1768 ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in the suburbicarian diocese of Velletri .

Life

Giancarlo Antonelli came from a patrician family Velletris. A relative of the same name Giancarlo Antonelli (1611-1694) was Bishop of Ferentino from 1677 .

Antonelli was from May 21, 1736 to around 1739 Apostolic Internuntius in Savoy . He received the deacons on April 2, 1752 - and two days later he was ordained a priest .

Giovanni Carlo Antonelli was appointed auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Velletri, which at that time was united with the diocese of Ostia in personal union, on May 15, 1752, at the same time he was appointed titular bishop of Dioclea . He received his episcopal ordination on June 4th of the same year by the Cardinal Bishop of Frascati , Giovanni Antonio Guadagni OCD ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishops Michele Maria Vincentini and Giovanni Andrea Tria , former Bishop of Larino .
