Gianmarco Busca (born November 30, 1965 in Edolo , Province of Brescia , Italy ; also Marco Busca ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Mantua .

Life

Gianmarco Busca studied at the Paolo VI seminary in Brescia and was ordained a priest on June 8, 1991 . After he was chaplain in Borno until 1994 , he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University until 1999 and was awarded a doctorate theologiae . He then became professor of sacramental theology at the seminary of Paolo VI . At the same time he was Vice Rector there until 2004. Busca also published several books on sacramental theology. In 2012 Busca became a lecturer in dogmatic theology at the Catholic University of Sacro Cuore in Brescia .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Mantua on June 3, 2016. He was ordained episcopate on September 11th of the same year by Luciano Monari , Bishop of Brescia . Co- consecrators were Bruno Foresti , Bishop Emeritus of Brescia, and Busca's predecessor Roberto Busti . The inauguration took place on October 2, 2016.

On December 4, 2018, Busca granted remarried divorced people in individual cases access to ecclesiastical sacraments in his diocese.
