Gianni Rodríguez , full name Gianni Danielle Rodríguez Fernández , (born June 7, 1994 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.77 meter tall defensive player Rodríguez first played for Danubio FC . In the Apertura 2012 there are twelve appearances (no goal) in the Primera División for him. He was also used in two games of the Copa Sudamericana 2012 . In January 2013 he moved to Benfica Lisbon for a rumored transfer fee of 800,000 euros . There he was used three times in the first half of the year and 21 times in the 2013/14 season in the B-team in the Liga de Honra . In the 2014/15 season there was no further league appearance for him. At the beginning of February 2015 he moved back to Uruguay on loan to Club Atlético Peñarol for a year . There he was used in the 2015 Clausura in five top division games (no goal). In the 2015/16 season, in which he won the Apertura and the national championship title with the team, five more first division appearances (no goal) and three (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 were added. After only one more first division appearance (no goal) in the 2016 season, he joined Club Atlético Cerro in mid-January 2017 . So far (as of July 10, 2017) he has played for the Montevideans - without a personal goal - in 20 first division games and two games of the Copa Libertadores 2017 .

National team

Rodríguez made his debut on January 14, 2009 under coach Fabián Coito at the Mundialito Tahuichi Aguilera in the game against Paraguay in the Uruguayan U-15 national team. With the selection, in which he as a whole (no goals) completed 17 internationals, he participated in the in Bolivia discharged 15 South American Championship U-2009 part. He was also a member of the U-17 in his home country . There he played from his debut on January 12, 2009, which was two days before his debut in the U-15, in a 4-2 win against the Paraguayan team 41 international matches (two goals). With this he then took part in the Pan American Games in 2011 and won the bronze medal with the team. In total, he played four international matches in the Pan American selection. In the U-20 national team , he was then also used for the first time under coach Juan Verzeri on June 6, 2012 in the 4-2 win against the USA. Rodríguez was part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship in Argentina in 2013 and played nine games during the tournament. In July 2013 he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey . Rodríguez was used in seven games at the World Cup. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 24 international matches in this age group.
