Gift (spelling: GIFT ) is a German rock band .

history

The band members with their producer OB Hartmann in the Union Studios in Munich.

The band was formed in 1969 from the Augsburg school band Phallus Dei . The Munich producer Otto Hartmann became aware of Poison and signed the band. The first album GIFT was recorded in the Union Studios in Munich in 1971 and published by Teldec .

Two years later, the second album, Blue Apple , followed, which was recorded in the record company's own studios in Hamburg.

The band became known through television appearances and countless concerts all over Germany, including the German Rock Super Concert 1973 in the Frankfurt Festhalle in front of 6,000 listeners, sponsored by Bravo with all representatives of the Krautrock scene at the time. The band broke up in 1974.

In 2013, band members decided to try a comeback for the TV show Millionärswahl , which took place on January 9, 2014 on ProSieben . However, they were eliminated early on as the penultimate.

Career history of the members

Rainer Baur founded the variety band Music Circus in 1974 . The band was engaged in clubs and hotels across Europe on a monthly basis. In 1990 Baur founded a DJ and musician placement agency.

After the band broke up, Helmuth Treichel became a member of various groups (Route 66, Cor, Mephisto, Walrus), ended his active music career in 1997 and has lived as a successful scientist (microelectronics and photovoltaics) in California ever since.

Uwe Patzke co-founded the band Phallus Dei in 1969 when he was an art student. After the Gift group was dissolved, he worked for many years in the advertising industry (Head of Advertising at Fisher-Hifi / Sanyo Europe) but began to gain a foothold in creative work again. For years he has worked as a 3D sculptor / 3D designer / photographer and artist.
