Ernst Rotmund
Ernst Rotmund (born November 26, 1886 in Thorn , † March 2, 1955 in Munich ) was a German actor .
Life
From 1904 Rotmund played at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin . Until 1944 he was active on many other Berlin theaters, also with Louise Dumont at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and with Leopold Jessner at the Neues Schauspielhaus in Königsberg .
In film, Rotmund took on numerous roles as a supporting actor, especially in the 1930s and 1940s. During the National Socialist era he was an actor loyal to the regime and also played in Nazi propaganda films. Nevertheless, he was briefly imprisoned in Lichtenburg concentration camp in 1935 for violating Section 175 of the Criminal Code . In 1943/44 he worked for the comedians cabaret . After the war he continued his film career and also played at the Münchner Kammerspiele .
