As the most important arranger of bebop , Fuller made decisive contributions to the transfer of modern jazz into the soundscape of large orchestras. His composition “Things To Come” became the programmatic motto of the bebop that was prevalent at the time. Dizzy Gillespie paid tribute to Fuller in his autobiography: Nobody can beat Walter when it comes to organization and arrangement .
