Gil Vianna

Gil Manhães Vianna Júnior , known as Gil Vianna , (born July 10, 1965 in Campos dos Goytacazes , State of Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ; † May 19, 2020 there ) was a Brazilian politician and police officer.

Gil Vianna was a military policeman for a long time before he was elected to the city council of his hometown Campos dos Goytacazes for the first time in 2009. He held this office until 2016.

He ran for election as a member of parliament in his home country in 2014, but only achieved one substitute position, which he was able to take in 2017 for Pedro Fernandes Neto after he had entered the state government of Governor Luiz Fernando Pezão . This was followed by the election with 28,636 valid votes as a member of the legislative assembly of the state of Rio de Janeiro in 2018 for the 12th legislative period, of which he was a member until his death. He initially represented the Partido Socialista Brasileiro , then later the Partido Social Liberal . He was friends with the son of Jair Bolsonaro , Flávio Bolsonaro .

Gil Vianna was rushed to hospital on May 11, 2020 with signs of COVID-19 , where he passed away on May 19, 2020.
