The Giles Glacier is a hanging glacier in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains eastward along the south side of the Moyher Ridge to the Thomas Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2006 after the American drilling technician J. David Giles from the Polar Ice Coring Office of the University of Nebraska , who between 1993 and 1998 carried out various drilling projects of the United States Antarctic Program at the Taylor Dome , at the South Pole in the Windless Bight and assisted on the Kamb Ice Stream .
