The Gimpelalm is the base of the local mountain rescue and mountain rescue service Nesselwängle in the Tannheimer Mountains in the Austrian state of Tyrol . It also offers accommodation to the Heimweide Nesselwängle agricultural community . Completely renovated in-house, it was reopened in 1985. The stable was next to the former dairy hut until the 1990s . The hut is not open to the public.

Location and access

The hut is located at 1,720 m in the middle of the Tannheimer Mountains: Rote Flüh , Hochwiesler , Gimpel , Zwerchwand , the climbing garden Sieben Zwerge and Kellenspitze . It can be reached in around 70 minutes from Nesselwängle. It takes 1.5 hours from the mountain station of the Reuttener Bergbahnen ( Hahnenkamm ). It is not a hundred meters north of the Gimpelhaus .
