Gintautas Paluckas (born August 19, 1979 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician , LSDP party leader since April 2017 , and vice mayor of the Vilnius municipality from 2015 to 2019 .

Life

After graduating from Juozas-Balčikonis-Gymnasium in Panevėžys in 1997 , Gintautas Paluckas studied English at Charles Dickens College in London from 2000 to 2001 . In 2003 he completed his bachelor's degree in computer science at the Vilniaus universitetas (VU) and in 2004 the economics studies at Tarptautinio verslo mokykla (VU TVM). From 2004 he studied law at VU.

From 2003 to 2005 Gintautas Paluckas worked as a senior specialist at SoDra . From 2005 he was an assistant to Justas Vincas Paleckis (in the EP). From 2007 to 2009 he was the administrative director of the Vilnius Municipality . In 2015 he was selected to be a member of the Vilnius Council in the 2015 local elections in Lithuania . In the local elections in Lithuania in 2019 , he was not selected; while his party LSDP got no seats at all in the council of the Lithuanian capital.

Gintautas Paluckas has been a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija since 2004 and of the Lietuvos socialdemokratinio jaunimo sąjunga since 2005 . At the end of April 2017 he was selected as the LSDP party chairman. He prevailed against Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius .
