Local elections in Lithuania 2015

The municipal council elections (municipal elections) in Lithuania 2015 took place on March 1st, 2015, necessary runoff elections for mayoral elections will be held on March 15th, 2015 and the repeated municipal council elections in the Trakai district on June 7th, 2015. The date was set by the Supreme Electoral Commission of the Republic of Lithuania .

Mayoral elections

In March 2015, the mayors of the Rajon and municipal parishes were elected in direct elections. With a majority of votes, these people were elected in the first ballot:

• Municipality of Alytus : Vytautas Grigaravičius , "Alytaus piliečiai"
• Rietavas municipality : Antanas Černeckis , Liberalų sąjūdis (LRLS)
• Ignalina district : Henrikas Šiaudinis , Valstiečiai ir žalieji (LVŽS)
• Birštonas municipality : Nijolė Dirginčienė , LSDP
• Jonava district community : Mindaugas Sinkevičius , LSDP
• Molėtai district : Stasys Žvinys , TS-LKD
• Utena district community : Alvydas Katinas , LSDP
• Vilnius district municipality : Marija Rekst , Lietuvos lenkų rinkimų akcija
• Kaunas district community : Valerijus Makūnas , LSDP
• Marijampolė Municipality : Vidmantas Brazys , LSDP
• Panevėžys district parish : Povilas Žagunis , LVŽS
• Pasvalys district parish : Gintautas Gegužinskas , TS-LKD
• Pagėgiai municipality : Virginijus Komskis , TT
