The 2014 presidential election in Lithuania took place on May 11, 2014 (1st ballot) and May 25, 2014 (2nd ballot). In the runoff election, the previous President Dalia Grybauskaitė prevailed against Zigmantas Balčytis .

The President of the Republic of Lithuania is elected in direct elections by voters with Lithuanian citizenship for a period of 5 years in the constituencies.

Candidates

The election commission only registers those candidates who will achieve the required 20,000 supporter signatures.

• Jonas Lašinis (* 1942), grader- driver
• Artūras Paulauskas (* 1953), member of the Seimas ( DP )
• Rolandas Paulauskas (* 1954), journalist and politician
• Naglis Puteikis (* 1964), politician, deputy minister, member of the Seimas
• Bronis Ropė (* 1955), politician, mayor of Ignalina ( LVŽS )
• Waldemar Tomaszewski (* 1965), politician from the Polish minority, member of the European Parliament ( LLRA )
• Artūras Zuokas (* 1968), Mayor of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius ( TAIP )

Out of 12 pretenders, only 7 were registered as candidates: Dalia Grybauskaitė, Zigmantas Balčytis, Artūras Zuokas, Bronis Ropė, Naglis Puteikis, Artūras Paulauskas and Valdemaras Tomaševskis.
