Justas Vincas Paleckis
Justas Vincas Paleckis (born January 1, 1942 in Kuibyshev , Russia ) is a Lithuanian politician, diplomat and member of the European Parliament .
Life
After graduating from the Salomėja-Neris - middle school in Vilnius , he studied from 1959 to 1964 Journalism at the University of Vilnius and 1966-1969 Diplomacy and International Relations in Moscow . From 1969 to 1983 he was a Soviet diplomat in the GDR and Switzerland. From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Seimas , from 2002 to 2004 Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs. On June 10, 2004 he was elected Member of the European Parliament after Lithuania joined the European Union .
Justas Vincas Paleckis is the son of the Soviet Lithuanian politician and Prime Minister of Soviet Lithuania Justas Paleckis (1899–1980).

Justas Vincas Paleckis is married.
His son Algirdas Paleckis (* 1971) is also a politician, active socialist , member of the "Frontas" movement. He was convicted of his pro-Soviet statements regarding victims on Vilnius Bloody Sunday .
