Giorgi Kwirikaschwili ( Georgian გიორგი კვირიკაშვილი ; born July 20, 1967 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian politician of the Georgian Dream party .

Life

Kvirikashvili studied at the Tbilisi State Medical University and Tbilisi State University . He was a member of the Georgian Parliament for the New Right Party . In 2006 he became acquainted with the billionaire Bidsina Ivanishvili . Soon after, Kvirikashvili began working at Ivanishvili's Cartu Bank , where he held the post of general director until 2011. After a change of management he resigned at his own request. Before going into government, Kwirikashvili worked in 2012 as an expert on pension reform and the financial sector at Lenzie Fisher Hendry LLC .

From October 25, 2012 to September 1, 2015, Kvirikashvili was Minister of Economic Affairs and Development of Georgia. From September 1, 2015 to December 30, 2015, he was Foreign Minister of Georgia. Kvirikashvili was Prime Minister of Georgia from December 30, 2015, succeeding Irakli Gharibashvili . On June 13, 2018, he announced his resignation.
